Can you notice any latency? Then use any other interface of your choice. You'll likely get down to a few ms input latency. Adjust the buffer to the lowest you can get to work on your system. Download any of the Neural DSP Amp sims (14 day free trial). I disagree that the cable itself adds any noticeable latency. It's for those that are interested in a superior alternative. To me that is an absolute no-brainer.īut if the RTC is working for you, that's great. That's £10 more for lots of extra features, guaranteed compatibility with whatever other audio software you use, and superior build quality. The RTC which does nothing other than plug your guitar into your PC costs around £25. A decent, basic audio interface with multiple inputs, outputs, individual input/output volume controls, and various other helpful features will cost you around £35 or so. a port type that all new systems will have now and in the future. As you say, the RTC has issues with certain port types. I've been through two, and given that I generally practice sitting down the cables went through very little stress. The RTC build quality is not very good at all. The audio quality delivered by a decent audio interface is head and shoulders above the RTC. You may not notice it, but it's there and myself and others can "feel" it quite clearly. It does introduce more latency than a proper audio interface. While you may be a fan of the RTC, many people are not and for good reason. My point was that if you need a replacement and buy a basic audio interface instead, it will solve a lot of issues as well as opening the door to new and improved options outside of the Rocksmith software. This thread is about when it doesn't work, if you'd care to check the title. People like to blame it for everything under the sun for some reason but it actually does its job well for a low price (in the major market countries.) They don’t always play well with USB 3.0 or low power USB ports but they work fine for most people.
